Now I’ve caught many coastal rainbows in my years living in California. But I didn’t have a good picture of one that I know was caught in qualifying waters. On October 11, 2014, while fishing for the coastal cutthroat I happened to catch some coastal rainbows on a Copper John nymph. This isn’t the most impressive rainbow I’ve ever caught but I know it’s from an historic drainage.
